It goes without saying you are aware of the environmental wake-up call (oh, I mean "disaster") taking place in the Gulf of Mexico, since April 20th 2010. Right?

You may also be aware that it is now being characterized by the New York Times as a "natural disaster".

Was it natural? Hardly. 

Was it preventable? Most certainly.

Did it need to be as bad as it was once it happened? Doesn't look like it.
