If you're read my article on Toxic Skin Food you'll know about why it is important to only put onto your skin that which you can eat, or what you would be okay with eating (through your mouth). Here we will look at another closely related issue. You'll discover the profound importance of your sense of smell, and how this affects you physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

Yuck! What's that stink?

What first alerted me to the issue of putting toxic substances (bodycare products, etc.) onto my skin was my natural reaction to the rather unnatural fragrances that my world as a child seemed to be inundated with. So-called clean clothes would stink of toxic fragrance when washed with typical laundry degergent. My hands, after washing them with soap, would stink of fragrance for many hours, leaving me wishing I hadn't washed them. I'd get into cars that would stink of fragrances from when they were last cleaned, or from nasty "air freshers". Cleaning products, hair products, body-care products, and so on, all typically stink of toxic chemicals. My body just so happened to feel nausous when around these stinking chemicals. Thankfully, this reaction to such chemicals brought it to my attention that this stuff is not healthy. It is not real and it is life-taking to that which is real.

Now, I realise that many people actually like these stinking toxic fragrances. I consider these fragrances to be the toxic machinations of the post industrial capitalistic world, whilst other folks consider them something akin to a God-send. These chemcials especially appeal to those folks who cringe at the thought of anyone smelling their personal and natural fragrance after using the toilet, and choose to fill the bathroom with toxic fragrance after they are done. Speaking of which, you have surely noticed how these so-called "air freshners" just about always have nature pictures on them such as flowers or green medows, and yet the stuff in the can is poisoness and about as unatural as it gets. They also go by names like Spring Breeze, Autumn Meadow, French Lavendar, and that sort of thing. Kinda tricky, especially for those people who don't stop to pay attention to the list of ingredients and what those ingredients actually are. Again, if I wouldn't spray it in my mouth, then why would I want to ingest it through the highly absorbant tissues in my lungs?

Fragrant chaos

Our sense of smell plays a very important role in our relationship to the world around us, to people, to what we eat, to our digestion of food, and even to our own body. At an esoteric level the olfactory system directly influences our astral (emotional) body or field. At a more physical level it directly influences our hormonal system, our nervous system, our emotional state, the brain, and more. The human olfactory system (your sense of smell) was never intended to be inundated with synthetic (and typically toxic) unnatural chemicals. Something I share with people in my Intelligent Nutrition workshops is that every molecule that comes into contact with your body carries a vibrational or resonant signiture. It carries in-form-ation in the form of a vibration. Today, whilst writing this article I found the following statement in an article on howstuffworks.com:

Newer research suggests that the interaction between odorants and their olfactory receptors is based on a much more sublime physical process [than illustrated in previous theories]. Rooted in quantum physics, this recent theory says that the interaction is based on the reaction caused in the receptors by the vibrations of an odorant molecule's atomic structure. The receptor reacts to the vibrations of the molecule, and this response triggers the transmission of smell information along the olfactory system.

Sythetically produced fragrance molecules carry a chaotic and life-degenerating message to the body in the form of vibratory in-form-ation. Many people are surrounded by sythetic fragrances 24 hours a day, pretty much every day of the year. Many of us cover our body with stinking perfumes, body lotions, and other creams. Then we spray nasty chemicals under our armpits. We wash our hair with stinky chemical based shampoos and conditioners that smell for days. Our clothes and bed linen smell of the "fresh spring meadow" toxic rubbish in the laundry detergent we use, often added to by the fragrant anti-static products many people use when machine drying (something I only very recently discovered). The rooms we are in have been "cleaned" with toxic smelly chemicals. Some of us even have little 12v "air fresheners" in the car. Over all, the average American (for example) is seldom, if ever, not being inundated by these synthetic fragrances every minute of just about every day. What effect to you figure that might have on the body? The mind? The emotions? The nervous system?

Loss of consciousness

What I would like to bring to your attention is that this constant exposure to toxic synthetic chemicals (as so called fragrances, etc.) plays a part in ordinary Man's loss of consciousness. Ordinary Man is currently asleep. There are many factors playing a part in holding Man in that unconscious state. One, just one, of those influences is chemical in nature. These chemicals come in the form of synthetic (pharmaceutical) drugs, synthetic food ingredients, unnatural sweeteners (aspartame, xylitol, Nutrasweet, Equal, etc.), fabric treatments, gasses from plastics found in buildings and car interiors (etc.), and many other sources. One major source these days is man made fragrances. Even the ones identified as "natural frangrance" on a product label is most likely a toxic synthetic chemical. What allows the manufacturer to call it "natural" is typically that the chemical has been synthesised to be nature identical. The thing is, these chemical are never truly identical. They only appear identical to scientists who are still ignorant of the metaphysical (quantum) aspect of Reality.

How do these chemicals help hold Man in a state of unconsciousness? It's complicated, although to put it simply I will say this. All matter carries information. The word information (in-form-ation) is actually indicative of this. This information is imparted through resonance at a physical and quantum physical level. Your body is designed to be receptive to the information transmitted by the matter in your world. These toxic chemicals are a product of human unconsciousness endeavouring to solve a problem that never existed in Reality. They are typically designed to make money at any cost. Ordinary Man pays for these unnecessary solutions to non-existant problems as a result of his/her unconsciousness. These chemicals carry a level of information that is out of touch with nature, reality, and Life itself.

Loss of connection to Reality

Further to supporting unconsciousness, these fragrances play a part in keeping Man out of touch with Reality and with nature. With such a non-stop overload of toxic fragrance, Man eventually is no longer able to be receptive to nature in the way he/she is intended to. His/her scenses go into overload and confusion. One consequence of this, for example, is that such a person will eat a toxic health-destroying food and not register that it is toxic and health destroying. Man has more than enough sensitivity to know what is and is not health-promoting. Yet with his/her senses in toxic overload, this sensivity is lost. The body has to desensitise itself just to deal with the constant onslaught of toxic nastiness it is being exposed to.

Do yourself a huge favour

Please do yourself a favour and start today with eliminating the following toxic skin-food from your world:

  1. Laundry products containing synthetic frangrances. You'll find that there are natural alternatives for such things as laundry detergent (use either convential detergent made for "sensitive skin" or buy eco friendly detergent)
  2. Air freshners, perfums, body-deodorants. If needed use natural essential oils and spritzers based on such oils.
  3. All skin creams, lotions, moisturisers. Just about always loaded with nasty chemical fragrances. Buy 100% natural alternatives, or instead use natural plant-based oils as explained in another aritlce here.
  4. Sun block, sun screen, and sun/after-sun lotions. Refer to my article on the skin cancer scam.
  5. Household cleaning products. Most are made from toxic chemicals and laced with toxic fragrances that can linger for days. Use natural alternatives (eco-friendly varieties) or make your own.
  6. Make-up for the face. Most make-up is toxic and loaded with fragrances. There are natural varieties. Yet I would recommend questioning the social pressure to wear make-up in the first place. Just a thought.
  7. Liquid and bar soaps. I find the liquid soap (particularly those use in many public restrooms/toilets) smell the worst, sometimes lingering for many hours, even after rewashing with water and a natural soap.
