I've been saying for years that the US economy will collapse if it continues functioning the way it has been. Many other folk have been saying the same thing. A child could come to the same conclussion. If I spend more money than I have, I will go into debt. If I continue to do this, I will go even further into debt. One day the cookie will crumble and I will end up bankrupt as a result of not being able to repay my creditors.

The following video does a good job of summing up the debt issue faced by the USA and how it came to be.
