Holistic & Spiritual Healing

Getting down to the essence of healing who and what you are
  • What does it mean to "heal"?
  • Are healing and health the same thing?
  • How does healing take place and what must you do to heal?
  • What is the relationship between healing and wholeness?
  • Is your life at times painful?
  • Are there events and circumstances that you find particularly upsetting and difficult on an on-going basis?
  • Do you find yourself in a place—inwardly or outwardly—of conflict and struggle?
  • Are there relationships in your life that you'd rather avoid or do avoid?
  • Are there people and even family members that really "get to you" at times—or even any time you're around then?
  • Do you feel cut off and separate from aspects of your life and the world you believe you live in?

These are pertinent questions that call for honest answers.

Feeling and experiencing these sorts of things is not "bad"; nor is it "wrong"; nor does it indicate that there is anything "wrong" with you.

What I'd like to share with you is that the painful elements of your life have one purpose and one purpose only—namely to return you to facing yourself and your relationship to who and what you are. That is all.

The source of all pain is the belief in something which is not real—the belief in separation; the belief in a self that is separate from All-that-is. It it this belief that causes a person to experience something other than their natural wholeness and completion. In experiencing something other than wholeness and completion the mind forgets what is real. When I forget what is real I will forget who and what I am. When I forget who and what I am I appear to diverge from who and what I am and my experience of Self becomes fragmented and distorted.

Healing is simply a correction that takes place within the mind. It is a correction that brings all the apparent parts back into wholeness. Put another way, it is the correction of all the beliefs and concepts that brought about the perception of separation within the mind and within the apparent world. Healing is synonymous with Atonement.

Atonement is an interesting word. Take a look at it for a moment. Break it down into three parts. What do you see?

At - One - Ment, and,

A-Tone-Ment

"Ment" turns an adjective (a description) into a noun (a name) and the name is identifying the condition or state of something. "Contentment", for instance, is to be content.
A slight play on "ment" is that it is about the "ment(al)", or is about the mind. It is the mind that is content, or the mind that is "at-one".

Tone is about sound or frequency and vibration.

At-one is simply that. To me at one, in a place of unity and free of separation

So atonement is simply to be at-one within the mind.

Spiritual healing is about healing at the level of the Mind. To be quite clear, I am not referring to the level of mind that you perhaps relate to—that part of the mind where you experience endless thoughts and internal dialogue. Rather I am referring to deeper more expansive level of mind that is the source of all that you perceive and experience, and is also the place within you where you are at-one, whole, and complete.

A quick search on the internet for the phrase "spiritual healing" will provide you with a large array of information on this topic and also plenty of accounts of all forms of disease and dysfunction being cured or rectified through the process of spiritual healing. Spiritual healing defies what most people consider is possible and plausible. That does not, however, indicate that it's not entirely real and authentic. It simply means that it is currently beyond the scope of my beliefs and understanding... yet certainly worthy of my time and exploration in light of the fact that millions of people have benefited from it in very profound and undeniable ways.

Holistic Healing is healing that takes into consideration the whole person or— more accurately—the whole Being (in recognition of the fact that we are not confirmed to what we identify as our "person"). This includes—although is not limited to—the person's body, mind, emotions, feelings, dreams, soul, chakras and energy systems, life circumstances, life experiences, diseases, inspirations, aspirations, employment etcetera.

It is about taking all the apparent elements of your life-story and reading that story in order to see what message it holds. The message will clearly indicate the nature of a person's erroneous state of mind. Once that message is seen then the appropriate healing process can be started and walked through.

What about physical health?

Let's first be clear that "health" is not just about the physical. Take a look at the dictionary definition of this word. The definition goes something like this: "wholeness or soundness of body, mind, and soul". Okay, so right of the bat we have something that is dealing with more than just the physical. Although let's still take a look at the relationship between healing and the absence of presence of physical disease.

As far as I can ascertain a person may be healed and yet still display the signs of what we refer to as a physical disease or illness. I have come to understand that there are at times reasons behind a person's apparent physical condition that are not always obvious and may not always make sense to the reasoning mind. The apparent presence or apparent absence of a a particular physical condition is not indicative of your wholeness. I shall simply say that there is much more to heaven and earth than meets the eye.
